Japan’s population may enjoy one of the lowest rates of crime and the highest life expectancy in the world, but that doesn’t mean they can’t have a good time. The photos that follow, which were taken by Lee Chapman, demonstrate this.
According to Bored Panda, Chapman, a Manchester-born British photographer, created the Tokyo Times. He came in 1998 with the intention of staying “a year or two,” but he never did.

Apparently, people from other countries enjoy having a good time as well. But the show also highlights the risks associated with binge drinking. Alcohol can alter a person’s demeanor and even cause death through alcohol poisoning, unlike marijuana which is more likely to give one the “munchies” and make them reflect on life. The following series merits thought and reflection because one is lawful in most countries and the other is illegal.
