As a dying woman bids her parrot her final farewell, we were moved to tears by the bird’s prompt response.

It has been repeatedly demonstrated that animals are capable of feeling joy, sorrow, and other emotions. This is also true for birds, as shown in the video below. An African Grey parrot named Sinbad is accompanying his owner during her final days.

They have been friends for 25 years, and now it is time for this majestic bird to bid his lifelong partner his last farewell. Because African Grey parrots are skilled readers of people’s facial expressions and body language and because parrots are known to be highly emotional creatures, Sinbad is aware he is going to lose his friend.

These birds are even smarter than dogs, and undoubtedly the smartest among all other types of pets, as they are thought to have the cerebral and emotional capacity of a 5-year-old child. Scientists think they are capable of feeling, among other things, empathy, love, happiness, loneliness, boredom, envy, and anger.

The deeper and more emotional their bonds get, the more actual friends the parrots find in those individuals, and it’s not uncommon for these birds to grieve the loss of a loved one. Antidepressants can be administered to them in situations like this to lessen their emotional suffering.

Sinbad, who is typically highly vocal, is currently solely interested in remaining silent next to his owner’s hospital bed. Many people’s hearts were touched when the owner’s daughter captured the incredible moment when her mother said “I love you” to Sinbad.

Everyone who saw the video and witnessed what these two shared was convinced that birds can be unique pets and are able to show affection.
